‘Jane’

I am incredibly excited to be engagement producer for 'Jane', a new musical for all ages about world-leading primatologist and environmental campaigner Jane Goodall. We hope to use Jane’s incredible story as a way to humanise the science behind climate change and show young audiences, through theatre and workshops, that an individual can make real difference.

Boat Poets

Boat Poets supports emerging poets and spoken word artists through paid residencies on boats, barges and ferries on their local waterway. The artists are supported through a programme of dedicated professional development to create new work based on their experiences.

OX Projects

After working together on several projects throughout 2017/18, Liz Counsell and Hannah Nicholls found a shared passion in working in a new way; not necessarily sticking to the plan, being reactive and most of all making sure that artists, audiences and participants are at the top of the list when it comes to priorities.

“Hannah produced the tour of Shall We Take This outside which took in ten venues, a festival, three schools and two pupil referral units, with four artists and a technician. As well as being an excellent producer with an infectious passion for arts engagement, she is a joy to work with, a  calming presence at rehearsals and shows and a tireless supporter of the artists. I look forward to working with Hannah in the future on bigger and even more ambitious projects.” Adam Kammerling, Artist

Afrika Eye Festival

Afrika Eye is an annual film and arts festival in Bristol and is the South West’s biggest celebration of African cinema and culture. We bring films and diverse perspectives on Africa and the African diaspora to challenge the stereotypes, dispel the myths and explore the traditions and transformations in the ever-changing social and political landscape across this vast continent.

Shall We Take This Outside: Producer

Shall We Take This Outside is a unique and visceral fusion of spoken word and dance. National slam champion, Adam Kammerling, teams up with real life superhumans, Emma Houston and Si Rawlinson, to explore the effect of hero behaviour on real-world attitudes to violence, and male mental health.

MAYK International Touring: Engagement Producer

A pilot project taking three participatory shows to four cities. Over 200 locals from Bristol, Derby, Folkestone and Gloucester performed in WE ARE LIGHTNING (Australia), Town Choir (Canada) and Contact Gonzo (Japan). Three wildly different contemporary shows devised with local community members.

Thames Festival Trust: Producer

The Thames Festival Trust brings the Thames to life with river related art, education and heritage programmes and events. Including yearly festival Totally Thames and international project Rivers of The World. I produced the creative programme for two years working on everything from big floating lanterns on that Thames to concerts inside Tower Bridge.

Punchdrunk Enrichment: Producer

The Lost Lending Library is a literacy project for the whole school, delivered by Punchdrunk in collaboration with the primary schools it visits. This is one of the most magical jobs I have ever had and the impact on children was incredible.

The Floating Cinema On Tour: Producer

Floating Cinema made its first voyage outside the capital on a tour across South West England during the summer of 2015. I managed the tour along the Kennet & Avon canal, across Wiltshire, through Bath to Bristol and back!

Kings Place Music Foundation: Production Manager

Kings Place is an open, multi-arts venue, presenting an adventurous and critically-acclaimed programme, with words and music at its heart. I was Production Coordinator, making sure the administration of shows (including a surprise visit from Prince!) always ran smoothly.
